Living in Christ, Sunday, January 31, 2010

We are back again to the subject of Living in Christ.  The book of Colossians has much to say about how and why we are to live in a manner that honors God. The apostle Paul usually wrote about doctrinal truth before giving the practical application on how it is to be lived out. The people of Colossea were a mixture of pagan, Greek, Roman and Jewish cultures that did not know how to live as members of the Body of Christ in this dispensation of Grace. Chapter three of Paul's letter to the Colossians begins the transition from doctrine to practical application. Paul first gives the Colossians reasons for why they should live in a manner that honors God. He tells them to "put to death" the attitudes and actions of the earthly nature. He describes some of the attitudes and actions of the earthly nature in verse 5.  We will look at just verse 5 this week.  There is alot for us to consider that is still relevant today. I would encourage you to look up Colossians 3:5 and think about how this applies to you.

See you Sunday morning at 9:30am.
