This morning we return to our study of Paul's letter to the Colossians, chapter 3, verses 12-14. My thanks to Doug Hadley for filling in for me last week as I traveled with Kathy to Wisconsin to visit with family. His sermon on "Worthy is The Lamb" was well received.
This morning we are considering some of the reasons for clothing the image of our Creator, Jesus Christ. God has chosen us to be His people of the Body of Christ in this dispensation of grace. With this new identification, we are called to put on the virtues of Christ-likeness in the manner of our life. Paul gives us eight virtues of the spiritual life we have in Christ that should be clothed upon us. This reminds me of what Paul told the Galatians in chapter 5, verses 22-23. Godliness is the norm of those who have been recreated in Christ Jesus.
I hope that you will come and worship with us this Sunday as we sing praises to God and share the truth of His Word to us. If you have never been to Grace Community before, we would be pleased to meet you and worship the Lord with you. We are a friendly community of beleivers in Christ and His Word.
