Living in Christ

What does a Christian look like?  I would imagine that Christians have individual characteristics of size, shape and preferences in clothing. We are all individuals with unique likes and dislikes in how we appear to others.

But God has some characteristics that all Christians should make obvious in their life. These characteristics are described as putting on the clothing of Christ-likeness. Being in Christ, we are His representatives on Earth.  We are to portray His indwelling characteristics placed into us by the Holy Spirit.  What begins within our heart and mind is to be demonstrated in our appearance on the outside.

In Colossians 3:15-17 , the apostle Paul gives us some commands that make up the appearance of Christ-likeness.  Peace is to rule in our life. Thankfulness is to be our attitude toward God and evident in the manner of our life. God's Word is to richly dwell in our mind and heart. We should be singing in our heart if not also with our mouth the Psalms, Hymns and spiritual songs of praise and testimony of our Christian faith. Beyond all these Christ-like characteristics, we should do this in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We live Christ-like, because we are in Christ, God's chosen people of this dispensation of grace.  We do it to honor God as we serve Him on Earth.

We hope that you will worship with us this Sunday.  We meet at 9:30am.  See you there!
Colossians3:15-17.
