Opening Up The Gift of Christmas |

By the time some of you read this the big Christmas celebration has already happened. The gathering around the Christmas tree and the opening of gifts has occurred. The grand "opening" for children and adults has ended the weeks of anticipation of what we will get for Christmas.
Well, there is yet one more gift that is meant to be received. It is the gift that keeps on giving all through the year. It is the Gift of God through Jesus Christ given to us through His birth, life, death,burial and resurrection. Actually, the gift also includes His coming again to meet us in the air and bring us home to be with Him forever in His presence in Heaven.
God is the Ultimate gift giver. Giving gifts was and is His idea. This Sunday, we will explore the meaning of gift giving and what God has given us in the Lord Jesus Christ. We will also consider what response is appropriate for us who have received God's gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Perhaps we should be thinking about that before we come to church this Sunday. The pastor might ask the congregation what they have received from God this year and for eternity.
I'm looking forward to seeing and being with you this Sunday. See you at 9:30am sharp. We will have lots to celebrate.
